Former New Orleans Saints player Steve Gleason is spotted and surrounded by the Pigeon Town Steppers Social Aid and Pleasure Club at Jazz Fest, 2018. Gleason played football for the Saints from 2000-2008 and will always be remembered for sparking the cityÕs ÒrebirthÕÕ after his blocked punt against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football in the Louisiana Superdome, reopened for the first time after Hurricane Katrina. He was diagnosed with ALS in 2011, and as his health declined, he founded ÒTeam Gleason,Ó raising awareness and money, advocating for legislation and technology to help those with the neuromuscular disease. The documentary Gleason, 2016, covers five years of his struggles.
